Those who are involved in the Institute’s core activities come mainly from the academic sphere (teachers; bachelor, master and doctoral students); that creates the combination of studies and practical tasks. Thanks to this specific approach students can use their knowledge and help the municipal sector to fulfill their requirements. IPA cooperates with external experts as well (public sector representatives, representatives from non-profit or private sector).
Doc. PhDr. Jan Šelešovský, CSc. works at the Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administration (Masaryk University) and is engaged in IPA’s activities as an expert consultant. In long term in his educational and research activities he focuses on issues concerning public finance and public administration with an emphasis on local governments and municipalities. He participated in leading some of the projects for main institutions, such as Ministry of Regional Development, The South Moravian Region Office, etc. Jan Šelešovský is a member of the examination committee for examining the verification of professional competence for public servants in the area of financial management and budgetary rules. He was also a member of the Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of the Interior for training local government officials.
Ing. Eduard Bakoš, Ph.D. is an expert assistant at the Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administration (Masaryk University) and is engaged in IPA’s activities as an expert consultant as well. Formerly he worked at the University of Defence, where he lectured safety issues and crisis management from the perspective of public administration. Pedagogically he focuses on public finance, environmental economics and public administration issues. In long term he cooperates with major institutions in public administration sector, at a national level, regional and local as well. He participated in finding several solutions of applied projects for public administration, especially regarding its impact on the environment.
Ing. Filip Hrůza works as a coordinator at the Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administration MU and is engaged in IPA’s core activities as an expert consultant. In his professional work he deals with the main issue – financial management in the private and public sector, with a focus on cities and municipalities. He is engaged in specialized committees in some of the districts of Brno (concerning various issues: finance, education, sports, construction, …). Filip Hrůza is involved in special projects for public administration and local governments and focuses on international projects as well. Moreover he is active in sport (its economic and marketing point of view).
Martin Vérteši is a member of the IPA’s team where he specializes in PR and marketing activities. He is the bachelor student of journalism and political science at the Faculty of Social Studies MU. He is also contributor of few magazines, for example the magazine of Faculty of Social Studies Atrium. He is active in NGO sector in working with children and youth and he also co-operate with Leisure Centre Lužánky.
Petra Košárková is an executive assistant of the Institute for Public Administration since June 2016. She focuses on regular monitoring of current opportunities, organizing management for IVS events and manages databases. She studies Economic Policy at Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University.
